The idyllic fishing village at Stinesminde on the north side of Mariager Fjord has undergone an upgrade and is now offering several new facilities; but the unique soul of the place has been preserved. It has been extended to include primitive camping in shelters, outdoor kitchen, shower and a toilet for the visitors, along with several bench tables, making it a perfect place for fieldtrips.
The harbour itself has also undergone a renovation with new lighting installments, as well as it has become far more accessible for walking impaired. The old fisherman house has been turned into a sitting room with brochures and information on the place and its history – e.g. the brickworks and the fishing industry etc. It also provides a wide selection of walking and biking trails in the area.
