The walking trail between Hobro and Bramslev Bakker is the first trail in Denmark to become a certified Premium Walking Trail. Deutsches Wanderinstitut is responsible for the certification, and is also behind the most widespread and most recognized quality system for walking trails in Europe. Only the best of the best trails pass the requirements!
Several hundred trails throughout Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and the Netherlands have been certified within the past years, but the specialist were still very impressed by the 6 miles long Mariager Fjord Panoramic trail. According to the institute behind the certification, Deutches Wanderinstitut, the Mariager Fjord Panoramic Trail is easily compared to the trails in th e Alps
and the German mountains.
The new trail starts out at Hobro Marina, and is accessible for most. Along the trail you will find benches ideal for a pit stop to enjoy the view and the scenery. In Bramslev you will also find Hotel & Restaurant Bramslevgaard, which is an excellent opportunity for dining in beautiful surroundings after a nice walk.
Walking the trail takes about 3 hours, and the trail is a combination of paths, grass tracks and gravel roads, and the way back to Hobro is often along the inlet, Mariager Fjord – a beautiful route as well.
At the tourist information you will find a brochure over the trail, but you will also find signs with information about the trail at the parking lots by the marina and Bramslev Bakker. The trail is well-marked with both signs and poles with white markings providing direction.
Should you feel like more premium walks, you will find a 2,5 miles long trail in Rebild Bakker, which is also a certified Premium Walking Trail.
